17th Hole back in play - update

by Mr Geoff Kelly @ 04:39 PM, 29th Apr 2022

The recently renovated 17th hole is back in play. The new turf is looking great and is now in play.

The new mounds on the left have been seeded and will stop many balls from running down the slope to the dam. This grass will take time to become established. So play from these areas is prohibited for now - they are marked GUR and players must take relief under rule 16.1, nearest point of relief not nearer the hole.

The new sandy waste area to the right of the fairway, replacing the former bunker, is in play, is to be treated as "rough", and is not a bunker or penalty area. Please avoid driving carts over the sandy waste area. Players are encouraged to smooth out foot prints and divots after they have played with their club or foot.

Please note Rule 16.3a for relief from an embedded ball excludes relief when the ball is imbedded in sand in a part of the general area that is not cut to fairway height or less, ie this area.

Please refer to temporary local rules for details.

Please also note that Preferred Lies no longer apply on the 17th.
